The approval was announced by Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, Antonio Andrade, who is on an official visit to China.
In April 2013, Brazil exported 7.154 million tons of soybeans, equivalent to US $3.797 billion. Of this total, 5.604 million tons (US $2.966 billion) had China as a destination.
"This decision was eagerly awaited by Brazilian soy producers, as companies have few weeks to pack and distribute the product in time for the planting of the new crop," said Minister Andrade.
