Bruichladdich, an Islay-based Scotch whiskey distillery owned by Rémy Cointreau, has opened a new unit, Bruichladdich UK Distribution, in Glasgow, Scotland to distribute the Bruichladdich range of Islay single malt Scotch whiskies and The Botanist, Islay dry gin.
Established in 1881, the Bruichladdich distillery is known for producing spirits using traditional artisanal methods. Some of its brands are Bruichladdich (unpeated lslay single malts), Port Charlotte (heavily-peated Islay single malts), Octomore (super-heavily-peated Islay single malts) and The Botanist (Islay dry gin).
The company claims that Gordon & MacPhail will remain an important stockist and wholesaler of all Bruichladdich brands and the new company, Bruichladdich UK Distribution, will communicate directly with trade customers and consumers.
Bruichladdich global brand director Douglas Taylor said it has been a challenging journey establishing Bruichladdich in the UK and their distributors have done a good job in growing both Bruichladdich and The Botanist in a difficult climate.
"We are looking forward to the next stage in the development of our exciting brand portfolio," Taylor added.
