Kroger has announced the creation of two new divisions in Southern US, even as it revealed a slew of executive changes related to the move. The grocer has established divisions in Nashville, Tenn., and Louisville, Ky., which will be led by Rick Going and Calvin Haufman, respectively, with both holding the position of Divisional President.
Going will be succeeded as President of the Michigan division by Jayne Homco (currently VP of merchandising for the Southwest Division), while Kaufman will be succeeded as Group VP of Kroger manufacturing by Erin Sharp (VP of operations for Kroger manufacturing).
Kroger COO Rodney McMullen said the new divisions were created due to growth opportunities in Alabama, Kentucky, Southern Illinois and Indiana. Stores in both areas were previously serviced by the Mid-South division based in Lousville. McMullen added: “We believe this move will enable our associates to do what they do best – meet the needs of our local customers and neighbours, our communities, and each other.”
