Ontario Natural Food Co-op (ONFC), a Canada-based distributor of natural and organic foods and products, has acquired the assets of Canadian juice company Black River Juice.
This transaction will enable ONFC to grow its brand portfolio and distribution model in the Ontario marketplace.
With this acquisition, both companies will offer natural, organic and local foods and products.
Black River and ONFC are focusing on building a local food system that keeps sustainability and closely forged relationships with their farming partners and vendors at the forefront.
ONFC general manager Randy Whitteker said, "Bringing these products within the ONFC family allows us to expand our delivery of quality locally produced, natural and organic products to our members and customers."
Black River Juice president Keith Wallace said: "We are very pleased that Black River will continue to make quality fruit juices in Ontario with ONFC."
Black River produces fruit juices and juice blends that possess the natural ingredients of the original fruit.
The fruit juices and juice blends can be found in National Grocery Chains as well as small and large Natural Food Retailers across Canada.
