Venture Foods UK has withdrawn a number of its Organica chocolate bars because the allergy information on the product packaging does not fully explain the amount of milk in each product. This means the products are a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or its constituents.

The Food Standards Agency has issued an Allergy Alert advising anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk, or its constituents, not to eat any of the products listed below.

The products being withdrawn from sale are:

• Chocolate Couverture Bar, 100g
• 'Best before' end: 8 March 2014
• Batch code: 56392

• White Bar, 100g
• 'Best before' end: 19 July 2014
• Batch code: 56222

• Dark Chocolate with Hazelnuts, 100g
• 'Best before' end: 30 September 2014
• Batch code: 56302

• Dark Chocolate with Mint, 100g
• 'Best before' end: 30 September 2014
• Batch code: 56322

• Dark Chocolate with Raisins, Cinnamon & Nutmeg, 75g
• 'Best before' end: 31 March 2014 and 30 September 2014
• Batch codes: 56362

If you have bought one of these products, return it to the store you bought it from for a full refund.

The company has voluntarily withdrawn the affected products from sale and has contacted the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the withdrawal. The company has also published a product withdrawal notice on its website, and issued point-of-sale notices for display in stores that sell the products.

No other Venture Foods UK Ltd products are known to be affected.
