Vanns Spices plans to grow its warehouse and production facilities by 25% this year and add new high-speed form-fill production lines.

According to the company, it has experienced increasing profitability since the deployment of the company's enterprise resource planning (ERP) software provider, SYSPRO US.

In addition, it has been moving steadily upmarket to support larger customers including grocery and restaurant chains and food manufacturers.

Vanns Spices president Mick Whitlock said that SYSPRO has allowed the company to better plan the production and inventory requirements to service these larger-order, more profitable (for us) customers.

"We had a long list of requirements, but lot sourcing and product traceability are high on the list of requirements for any food manufacturer."

"Even though we are a mid-sized company, we have very large sized customers and hence the same ERP requirements of a very LARGE company. We also have to have SQF certification, and SYSPRO is a world-class solution meeting all of these needs," Whitlock added.

The company is projecting a 15% profit increase over the next 12 months, the addition of a new line of salt-free spice blends and advanced marketing around its organic certifications.

Vanns offers more than 350 of spices, rubs, herbs, unique blends, flavors and extracts. The company sells direct and private label, is known for its custom blending advantages.
