Swedish producer Cefour Wine & Beverage has partnered with RPC Cobelplast, a Belgium-based developer and manufacturer of quality packs, to create a new Easy Wine Glass ready-to-drink solution.

The Easy Wine Glass is a fully recyclable plastic glass of wine that is formed, filled and sealed using transparent PP/EVOH/PP sheet developed by RPC Cobelplast on an Alfa machine.

The EVOH layer prevents oxygen entering into the glass and wine spilling out of the glass, thus preserving the wine for up to ten months. This makes the glass suitable for all types of outdoor events and for controlling wastage of the beverage as consumers can use the glass of wine without opening the full bottle.

The Easy Wine Glass is offered in two designs, the traditional wine glass and a stemless glass, which is ideal for servings in aeroplane and train.

It offers a selection of wines, including Merlot, Rosé Syrah and Chardonnay, in pre-filled and sealed plastic wine glasses of 18.75cl size.

Cefour Wine & Beverage general manager Mikael Bergholts said their Easy Wine Glass pre-filled concept considerably simplifies the handling of wine, eliminates spoilage and increases security when serving.

"It is essential that the wine glasses look good, as well as being safe and practical, in order to reflect the premium image of the wines, and the quality of the sheet supplied by RPC Cobelplast has helped to deliver this," Bergholts added.
