Felix Solix, a Spain-based winery, is all set to come up with a UK subsidiary, Frlix Solis Avantis UK, at Canterbury, England.
To look after the operations at the new subsidiary, the company has appointed former Bibendum trading director Richard Cochrane as the managing director of the new unit.
Felix Solis Avantis will serve as subsidiary for two Spanish firms, Felix Solis, which has facilities at Valdepenas and La Mancha, and Pagos del Rey, which has four wineries in northern Spain - Rioja, Rueda, Ribera de Duero and Toro, reported The Drinks Business.
Cochrane is currently working on distribution of Felix Solix wines, including the Spanish brand Vina Albali, in the UK.
In the UK, the Felix Solis wines were previously distributed by Free Run Wines under the directors Charles Elms and Nick Bauer.
Cochrane told the website that Charles and Nick have helped make the UK the corner stone of their business since starting Free Run Wines in 2001, with around 20% of their total exports now coming to the UK and Ireland.
"I would like to personally thank them and the excellent team at Free Run Wines for the vital role they played in our growth and wish them and Free Run Wines every success in the future," Cochrane added.
Felix Solis Avantis also has plans to build a bulk and bottled wine operation in Chile and update its facility at Valdepenas.
