Silver Ice Beverages of India has partnered with Rexam Beverage Can to revamp the packaging of its fruit flavored carbonated beverages RIO-Fusion Drinks from glass bottles to aluminum cans.
Rexam India has manufactured a 330ml Sleek Can for RIO at its plant in Taloja, Navi Mumbai.
This shift from glass bottles will be supported by a new website and regional initiatives where the sustainability benefits of the aluminum can will be promoted.
RIO-Fusion Drinks are produced in five flavors and feature a blend of vitamin C and honey. They are available for sale at cafés, canteens and pubs across the country.
Silver Ice Beverages sales and marketing director Rahul Sangoi was quoted by packagingeurope.com as saying that the Rexam's team has offered the company a design proposal and worked closely to create a new look brand.
"Having previously packaged in glass, Rexam was also able to set us up with appropriate can filling facilities, making the transition to aluminium cans a smooth one," Sangoi added.
