line consumer goods banner bol.com has launched a temporary virtual store at Rotterdam Centraal metro station in collaboration with Rotterdam's public transport company RET and Shop2Mobi. The 18-metre wall at Rotterdam Centraal metro station showcases 33 bol.com summer products, including nail polish, an e-reader, a travel hammock and an inflatable swimming pool.
Customers can order and pay for items directly by scanning QR codes next to products. An augmented reality app utilising Layar technology then offers shopper more information and interactive content, according to Ahold.
