etro AG have appointed Dr Freddy Raas, managing director of the Otto Beisheim Group, to the supervisory board. Raas is to succeed the recently deceased longstanding supervisory board member Prof. Erich Greipl."Dr Fredy Raas is a recognised retail and financial expert and commands intensive knowledge about Metro from his many years of service as Chief Financial Officer of Metro Cash & Carry Germany and other entities", Franz Markus Haniel, chairman of the supervisory board of Metro AG said.
Raas is a member of the management boards of the Otto Beisheim Group and of the boards of the two Prof. Otto Beisheim foundations in Switzerland and Munich. Before that, he worked in various corporate functions at Metro. He has been at Otto Beisheim Group since 1991.
