The Glenrothes has announced the launch of its 2001 vintage Scotch whisky, which will be available in Berry Bros & Rudd in late August or early September.
The Glenrothes was founded in 1879 in Rothes, which is in the heart of Speyside, and only uses 3% of the distillery’s production in its single malt Scotch whisky.
Speyside is considered a top-quality single malt whisky-producing region, due to the clement weather and the soft water that comes from the river Spey.
The distillery has an unusually slow distillation process in tall copper pot stills and the whisky is matured in Spanish and American oak casks, which can be detected in
the sweeter and fruiter notes.
The Glenrothes 2001 will be available from Berry Bros & Rudd for rrp £45 at the London store as well as online.
