Cava producer Codorníu has announced the addition of two themed bottles to its limited-edition range.
Following the success of its recent limited-edition packaging “sleevers” to mark Valentine’s Day and the coming of spring – where the brand saw a 20% uplift in sales of
wrapped bottles – the Barcelona-inspired Brut NV is a nod to the brand’s heritage and the festive variant is designed to boost Christmas sales.
The Barcelona design comprises a gold wrap with the city’s key landmarks – including Gaudi’s Sagrada Familía and Las Ramblas – etched into it.
Carolyn d’Aguilar, brand manager at Bodegas y Vinedos Codorníu Raventos, said: “We’re delighted with the limited-edition sleevers that we have produced so far and are
thrilled with the response that we have had from retailers and consumers.
“We’re committed to innovation and this kind of activity is an ideal way to add value to both the Codorníu brand and the Cava category as it continues to rise in popularity.”
The Barcelona bottle will be available in Sainsbury’s from August and the Christmas-themed bottle will be rolled out later in the year.
