Up to a quarter of all visits to Tesco’s online wine website now comes via mobile phones and it has looked to upgrade its offer with a new look and feel to the site to make it easier to see and navigate and for customers to scroll through products.
Stuart Anderton, category manager for Wine by the Case, explained: “Updating our mobile site is an important step for our customers who are increasingly choosing to shop with us via their mobile phones.”
Other changes include introducing grid-style views to allow shoppers to see larger images and access more information about the products. Customers can now read shoppers’ feedback and ratings on wines they are interested in and see wines they have previously bought in the ‘Favourites’ section.
Lauren Penticost, web development manager for Tesco, added: “The refresh was designed to improve the overall look and feel of Wine by the Case and the customer experience. We will be monitoring the site closely over the coming weeks to understand what our customers think about the changes so that we can continue to improve.”
Tesco’s Wine by the Case is the current IWC Direct Merchant of the Year.
