UK-based Chase Distillery has reported growth in exports of its Chase Vodka and Williams Great British Extra Dry Gin in Asian markets.
Exports account for about 30% of Herefordshire-based craft distillery's business. Asia, including, China, India, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dubai and the UAE, accounts for 20% of the company's nearly £900bn in annual exports.
Produced from organically grown ingredients and distilled using a traditional still with a bespoke rectifying column, Chase Vodka and Williams Great British Extra Dry Gin are bottled at Chase's Herefordshire farm.
Chase Distillery founder William Chase said that the growth of its gin and vodka was driven by the prosperous economies of Asia.
"A big part of their consumer focus now is acquiring Western goods. A massive part of that is British goods. I wanted to take advantage of that," Chase added.
"The Asian market - including mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore - are real consumer beasts.
"Newly wealthy Asian consumers don't just want the best; they want the most visible and prestigious. That includes an award-winning craft spirit instead of mass-produced liquor."
The company expects its exports to grow to match the level of the UK sales and then grow to 50% or larger.
