US-based natural colorings provider D.D. Williamson (DDW) has received the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification for its natural coloring manufacturing site in Port Washington, Wisconsin.

GFSI is widely recognized 'gold standard' for international food safety.

DDW stated that the latest move complements its achievement of GFSI certification at all caramel color production facilities last year, which places the company at the leading edge of advanced food safety practices.

The company's certified subsidiaries are located in Port Washington, Wisconsin; Louisville, Kentucky ; Manchester, UK; County Cork, Ireland; Manaus, Brazil; Matsapha, Swaziland; and Shanghai, China.

GFSI is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve food production and manufacturing systems to ensure the global supply chain is safe for consumers.
