D.D. Williamson (DDW) announces that its natural coloring manufacturing site — located in Port Washington, Wisconsin — is officially certified by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI). GFSI is widely considered to be the “gold standard” for international food safety. DDW has added to last year’s achievement of GFSI certification at all caramel color production facilities to place the company at the leading edge of advanced food safety practices.

GFSI is a non-profit benchmarking organization that seeks to continuously improve food production and manufacturing systems to ensure the global supply chain is safe for consumers. In most cases, the level of food safety attained through GFSI far surpasses the requirements of international, federal and state standards.

“We are proud to say that all DDW sites have achieved GFSI certification to provide our customers with confidence and security,” said Greg Kreder, Director, Global Quality.

DDW’s certified subsidiaries are located in Port Washington, WI, USA; Louisville, KY, USA; Manchester, UK; Co. Cork, Ireland; Manaus, Brazil; Matsapha, Swaziland; and Shanghai, China.
