English wines producer Nyetimber has expanded its distribution network by signing deal with Philipson Wine to make its wines available in Denmark.
Effective from 1 September 2013, Philipson Wine will distribute Nyetimber's sparkling wines and Champagne portfolio.
Nyetimber CEO and owner Eric Heerema said although Denmark's culinary brilliance used to be unknown outside of the country, the New Nordic Cuisine has created a Danish gastronomy revolution with an entirely new focus on local ingredients over the last decade.
"That is quite similar to Nyetimber's story as after 25 years of being appreciated exclusively by wine connoisseurs in the United Kingdom, our wines are now enjoying increased popularity around the world," Heerema added.
Philipson Wine owner and CEO Christian Philipson said they are thrilled having been chosen as Nyetimber's first European partner.
"I have followed Nyetimber personally for the last 10 years and have admired the constant increase in quality of England's best sparkling wine, year after year. I am looking forward to introducing Nyetimber to the finest restaurants and wine lovers in Denmark," Philipson added.
Nyetimber joins Philipson's portfolio of sparkling wines comprising Champagne Bollinger, Champagne Salon, Champagne Delamotte and Champagne Drappier.
