Changyu Pioneer Wine, a China-based winery, has opened a new €70m winery, Chateau Changyu Moser XV, in Ningxia province of China.

The new winery features 800 barrel cellar, bottling lines and a museum showcasing the company's history and winemaking in China.

The Moser XV winery is named after the company's winemaking consultant Laurenz Maria Moser V of Austrian winery Laurenz V.

Since 2005, Moser has been serving as consultant for Changyu. Laurenz V imports Changyu wines in Austria through TxB International, whereas Changyu distributes Laurenz V wines such as Grüner Veltliner in China.

Changyu winery mainly produces two wines - Chateau Changyu Moser XV Grand Vin and Moser Family.

Made from a blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot and 5% Syrah, the Chateau Changyu Moser XV Grand Vin is aged for 12 months in 60% new oak barrels. The Moser Family is a Cabernet Sauvignon wine made from the 2010 vintage, which will be available in autumn 2013.

Moser was quoted by Decanter.com as saying that ChangYu now planned to employ a European vineyard manager and winemaker to maintain future quality.
