Boxed water product, 'Water In A Box', the first flavoured water to be packed and sold in Tetra Pak cartons in the UK, is to go on sale in Tesco stores this month.
The drinks are packed in the portion sized 330ml Tetra Prisma® Aseptic with DreamCap™ and delivered in shelf ready packaging, with a re-closable cap, while the cartons are predominantly made from renewable and responsibly sourced paperboard. The paperboard used to make the carton itself is sourced from FSC™-certified forests and other controlled sources.
The range will initially be sold at Tesco stores in London from August, and is available in plain spring water, dash of Orange and Peach, dash of Strawberry and dash of Lemon and Lime, all of which are boxed at source at the Water in a Box Spring in Somerset’s Mendip Hills.
Gavin Landeg, UK & Ireland Environment Manager at Tetra Pak said, “We are delighted Water in a Box has chosen Tetra Pak for their unique range.
He added, "The products represent a fantastic model for sustainable development, with the water being sourced and packed in the UK in cartons predominantly produced from recyclable, low carbon, renewable and Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC™) certified paperboard.”
