German-based herbal liqueur brand owner Mast-Jägermeister has collaborated with its existing distributor Cellar Trends to establish a new subsidiary in the UK.
The proposed distribution unit, which will be named CTJM, is expected to become operational in October 2013.
CTJM will be initially formed as daughter company of Cellar Trends. However, it will be transferred to Mast-Jägermeister's ownership, when established.
Cellar Trends is expected to transfer approximately 50 employees to the new subsidiary.
Commenting on the distribution unit, Cellar Trends joint managing director Martin Watts said that Cellar Trends will continue to operate as a leading independent family-owned distributor and will further build its premium spirits portfolio for its international partners with the same passion and quality as before.
Mast-Jägermeister executive board member Michael Volke said, "The UK has become the third largest and one of the most dynamic Jägermeister markets in the world. The British spirits market also often sets the trend for the category elsewhere, so managing the development of the brand here has become of major importance to us."
