Rexam Beverage Cans South America is set to unveil a second can production line at its existing plant at Santiago, Chile.
Following this expansion, the plant's production capacity is expected to reach 1.9 billion cans annually in the second half of 2014, which means the current production volume witnesses around 72% rise.
According to the company, the new production line will have a capacity to produce 12oz, 16oz and 8.4oz sizes.
Commenting on the expansion, Rexam South America sector director Carlos Medeiros said that this investment is crucial not only to consolidate Rexam's position in the region but also to ratify the company's commitment to support its customers' growth and to exceed consumers' expectations.

In addition, Rexam plans to bring new technological innovations and techniques in can development to the new production line to meet consumer demand and offer various packaging options.
