Spanish retailer Dia is celebrating two decades in the Portugese market with a major charity push, which has been launched under the slogan '20 good years, 20 good causes'.
To mark the two-decade anniversary, Dia Portugal, which operates in Portugal under the Minipreço banner, has launched 20 charitable initiatives with 20 different non-governmental organisations.
All of the charities involved in the scheme 'actively support the least privileged echelons of Portuguese society', according to Dia.
'The idea is to give each NGO a broad range of Dia brand products in order to help cover their beneficiaries’ most basic needs', the retailer said.
Portuguese Dia customers will be able to donate to the various food-banks online through the www.minipreco.pt website. Delivery of the shopping trolleys to the 20 charities will begin in October, according to Dia.
