Südpack has designed a new form of natural-look, 'wood'-style packaging for German meat specialist Houdek.
The packaging has been designed to resemble the typical wooden board used for light meals in Bavaria, while a large transparent section gives consumers a clear view of the meatloaf product - as Südpack notes, 'Consumers like to see what they are buying', and particularly so with meat.
'The company logo is now discreetly embossed on the film and gives additional credence to the premium aspirations of this traditional brand', the German packaging company said. 'The packaging from Suedpack gives the meat loaf from Houdek an eye-catching appearance at the point of sale'.
"We wanted packaging that conveys Bavarian values – natural, top-quality and traditional – in a contemporary way,” said Olaf Hakenbeck, head of sales and marketing at Houdek.
Hakenbeck added, “The development occurred smoothly. The packaging was ready for the market within a few weeks. We are very satisfied with the packaging for our meat loaf.
“The customers can see what they are buying at first glance and it is quick and easy for us to process the film. What completely won us over, however, are the exceptional presentation opportunities at the point of sale.”
