Core Tip: Diageo plc, maker of Johnnie Walker and Guinness, has been recognised by two separate organisations for its commitment to Sustainability & Responsibility.
Diageo has again been selected as a member of the World and Europe Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI), highly respected global sustainability indices that measure best-in-class performance against economic, environmental and social sustainability impacts. Diageo received the highest score given in the beverage sector for environmental performance and showed year on year improvements in community impacts.

In addition, for the second year in a row, Diageo was ranked by the CDP (previously Carbon Disclosure Project) as the best performing beverage company in the world for climate change strategy, emissions disclosure and performance.

Diageo was the only beverage company to achieve membership in both the Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index, which measures reporting, and the Carbon Performance Leadership Index, which measures environmental impact.

Commenting on this recognition, Carolyn Panzer, Diageo’s Director of Sustainability & Responsibility, said: ‘We are honored that two such highly regarded indices have rated our performance at the top of best in class companies who are leading on sustainability. We know that stakeholder expectations of the private sector continue to evolve and become more demanding and and we plan to continue to be responsive to these as we grow our business responsibly around the world.’
