Crystal Geyser Water, a US-based manufacturer of flavored and unflavored bottled mineral water, has acquired a bottling plant in California.

The bottling plant, which is spread over an area of around 145,000ft2, is located on 266 acres in Mount Shasta.

Crystal Geyser expects the new bottling facility to boost the company's potential to meet the increasing demand for its products.

Commenting on the transaction, Crystal Geyser Water executive vice president Richard Weklych said that this site was selected for its pristine water source, and the ability to expand production as the company's distribution and sales volumes increase.

"Our protected spring is fed from Shasta-Trinity National Forest watershed, at the foot of Mt. Shasta, which climbs to 14,179 feet above sea level,"added Weklych.

Crystal Geyser Water is a manufacturer/distributor of Crystal Geyser Sparkling Mineral Water, Juice Squeeze, Tejava and Metromint. It also offers lime, lemon, berry, and orange flavored drinks; and iced teas.

Founded in 1977, the company operates as a subsidiary of Otsuka Pharmaceutical.
