Retail chain Spar Ireland is introducing a new wine application - Spar Wine Wizard - to help customers select a wine to suit their preferences.
Initially available on iPhone and in-store iPad kiosk, the Spar Wine Wizard was developed last year by Spar Ireland, in collaboration with Spar International.
The app, which is based on similar applications launched by Spar in other countries, uses an interactive online platform.
Customers can scan barcode to access information. The app provides information on vineyard, the region and matching foods.
The app comprises 'featured' section where wines are listed in different categories - on promotion, exclusive for Spar and award winners, among others.
It also includes a journal feature that comprises blogs posted by the company's Master of Wine providing tips and insights about a wine, wine regions, producers or recipe suggestions.
