Koch Foods announced plans to expand its Alabama poultry operations in Randolph, Cleburne, Clay, St. Clair and Calhoun counties, according to local news reports.

The company plans to invest $20 million to build 120 to 150 chicken houses. The expansion could bring 150 jobs and generate approximately $6 million in annual income for area chicken farmers, according to news reports. A partnership of state officials and agencies will provide $108,000 for environmental waste management plans for the chicken farmers involved in the expansion.

In March, Park Ridge, Ill.-based Koch Foods announced the company would spend $49 million to expand the former Cagle's Inc. poultry-processing facility in Hamilton, Ga.
