Global beverage major Coca-Cola is planning to invest around $30m in its bottling and distribution center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The nonalcoholic beverage producer will install a new smartwater line in place of the existing Dasani line at the facility, alongside expanding its warehouse and loading docks.
Construction work, which has already commenced, is scheduled for completion in April 2014.
Wisconsin state governor Scott Walker said that Coca-Cola is a major employee in Milwaukee and this expansion is a reassurance that the company will continue to grow and compete in Wisconsin.
"Milwaukee is home to 150 water-related businesses, and Coca-Cola's presence helps solidify the area as the water hub of the world," added Walker.
Coca-Cola currently employs 400 people in Milwaukee and 1,000 in Wisconsin.
