Swire Coca-Cola receives additional bottling territory rights in US

Beverage firm Coca-Cola has agreed to grant additional bottling territory rights to Swire Pacific’s beverage division Swire Coca-Cola, USA, in a bid to expand its territories in the country.

As part of the deal, Swire Coca-Cola will be provided with additional territory rights for the cities, comprising of Seattle, Spokane in Washington, as well as Portland of Oregon.

The deal also allows Swire Coca-Cola to cover a wider area of the Pacific Northwest.

In addition, Swire Coca-Cola will acquire cold-fill production facilities in Bellevue of Washington, Seattle, in addition to Wilsonville of Oregon.

Coca-Cola has signed the deal as part of its North America's ongoing and accelerated implementation of a 21st Century Beverage Partnership Model, an initiative aimed to expand business operations.

Swire Coca-Cola, USA president and CEO Jack Pelo said: "This latest grant of additional territory rights, following on from the agreements to expand our territories in Colorado and Arizona, underscores the important role Swire is playing in The Coca-Cola Company's refranchising initiatives in North America."

Coca-Cola North America president Alexander "Sandy" Douglas Jr said: "Swire is a great partner, and we are excited at this proposed further expansion of their U.S. territories in the Coca-Cola system."

Coca-Cola has also signed a deal with Reyes Holdings' subsidiary Great Lakes Coca-Cola Distribution for additional territories in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan and Iowa.

With around 500 sparkling and still brands, Coca-Cola markets its products in around 200 countries across the globe.
