The company won the Corrugated Post Print category at the Flexo Tech International Print and Innovation Awards for its work with the national brewery.
SAICA PACK took on the challenge to convert Greene King’s Litho artwork for its Hen House range of bottled beers to a HQPP version.
Using the Bobst Masterline and the latest plate technology at its factory in Thatcham, Berkshire, SAICA PACK managed to maintain an exceptional finish on the multipack packaging whilst reducing unit costs.
The achievements of the SAICA PACK team were recognised at the Flexo Tech award ceremony dinner, held at the Hilton in London. Representatives of SAICA PACK and Greene King attended, taking to the stage to accept the award.
Announcing the winner, judges commented that it had been impressive to see the quality of the designs entered and revealed that the winning pack had been chosen due to the results achieved on a difficult substrate without a loss of quality.
Rob Dawson, South Print Manager, said:
“This award recognises the hard work and creativity that our team puts in to delivering quality products for our customers.
“Winning the award was a triumph for us, it shows that we are adept at taking on a challenging brief and using state-of-the-art technology to provide an alternative solution, whilst maintaining an extremely high level of quality.
“By doing this, we can work with materials and products that are traditionally seen as difficult, and deliver industry-leading consumer packaging.”
