Anheuser-Busch will roll out its new Johnny Appleseed hard cider in 2014, according to the St. Louis Post Dispatch.
The launch is scheduled for April 7, according to a letter released to wholesalers, but packaging and marketing details will be released early next year. The cider will be sold in 6- and 12-packs of 12-ounce bottles, 16- and 25-ounce cans.
In April, the "Fresh Takes on Fruit: Culinary Trend Mapping Report" labeled artisan alcoholic cider as the next big brew trend, appealing to consumers who are increasingly health conscious and imbibe.
