FSA publishes Forward Evidence Plan for 2014

Core Tip: The FSA has published its Forward Evidence Plan for 2014.
The FSA has published its Forward Evidence Plan for 2014. The plan outlines priority science and evidence activities for the coming year, including potential areas for research funding and workshops that will help develop the FSA’s evidence base. In addition, this year we have included some other ideas that are in development.

Proposed activity

The proposed activities cover a wide range of areas within the FSA’s remit:

• microbiological food safety, including campylobacter, listeria and norovirus
• a range of issues related to food hygiene policy
• chemical safety of food, including inorganic contaminants, additives, novel and emerging technologies, risk assessment of mixtures
• food allergy and intolerance
• effective risk-based enforcement and compliance, including on food authenticity, internet selling of food
• diet and health related-work funded by the FSA in Scotland and Northern Ireland
• cross-cutting work in the social sciences
