Chopin Technologies, a division of Tripette & Renaud Group, has opened a new North American subsidiary dedicated to meeting the needs of the North American cereal processing industry. Chopin Technologies Inc. will be located in Olathe, and its new facilities will include a full service center and demonstration laboratory.

“We are pleased to establish our new subsidiary as part of our commitment to provide innovative products and outstanding service in the North American market,” said Marc Doligé, chief executive officer of Tripette & Renaud. “I am thrilled to have Ian Trood join our team as vice-president of business development. Ian will be responsible for heading up our subsidiary. He brings extensive experience and expertise in the cereal industry to our organization.”

Prior to joining Chopin, Mr. Trood was vice-president of business development for CSM International, and earlier he was vice-president of sales for Caravan. He also has held key positions at American Ingredients Co., AIC Canada and Elf Atochem.

Mr. Trood said Chopin’s priority will be to bring “the finest laboratory equipment, service and technology” to the company’s American and Canadian customers.

“The new facility will support the needs of millers, bakers, growers and many others dedicated to the quality control and processing of grains, flour and other cereal byproducts,” Mr. Trood said. “We look forward to providing unparalleled service to all of our American and Canadian customers.”

Tripette & Renaud Group was established in 1836 to meet the needs of millers. Chopin serves the global cereal processing industry through locations in France, China and distributors in more than 60 countries. The company offers methods and equipment for the quality control of cereals, flour and their byproducts.
