Grupo Petrópolis establishes two new breweries in Brazil

Core Tip: Grupo Petrópolis, a Brazil-based brewing conglomerate, has established two new breweries with a capacity of six million hectolitres each, in collaboration with a privately owned company Krones.
Grupo Petrópolis, a Brazil-based brewing conglomerate, has established two new breweries with a capacity of six million hectolitres each, in collaboration with a privately owned company Krones.

With the new ones, the company's total number of breweries has expanded to six in Brazil. The first brewery, currently under operation, is in Alagoinhas and the second one is in Itapisuma, Pernambuco, which will start production in mid-2014.

Krones has supplied and installed the entire kit including the brewhouse, the cellarage and the filtration system, and the filling kit.

Each brewery has a returnable-glass line with a capacity of 62,000 bottles an hour and a canning line with a capacity of 128,000 cans per hour.

Krones is currently installing 18 combined fermentation and storage tanks and 12 bright-beer tanks for each brewery on site.

Beer production technology of the two breweries include Variomill wet mill for filteration; ShakesBeer mash copper for taste stability; Pegasus C lautering system for filtering beer.
