After launching the new packaging into Iceland stores in January, early results have shown a positive result in sales.
Macfarlane’s Reseal-it® solution is an easy open, re-closable labelling system, which allows consumers to easily open products and reseal them again, without the fuss of cling film or storage containers. This ensures freshness and pack integrity whilst helping to prolong the life of the food product resulting in less food waste.
Commenting on the launch, Clive Jackson, Sales Director, Macfarlane Labels said: “We are thrilled to be working alongside Allied Bakeries and Interflex on their Sunblest crumpet packaging. Allied have identified the importance to their customers of easy opening packs with a reseal solution and are continually looking at ways of improving the customer experience. Macfarlane’s Reseal-it® solution combats this issue by offering an easy to open pack for all. We look forward to working closely with Allied Bakeries and Interflex, in the future on similar products.”
Rhodri Smith, Head of Direct Procurement at Allied Bakeries said: “We are delighted with the new Reseal-it® label on our crumpets. Since the new pack was launched into Iceland stores last month the sales in week one have surpassed expectations.”
Macfarlane labels also provide Reseal-it® solutions for other leading brands across the UK, Europe, US and Canada on packs containing sliced meats, cheese, biscuits and cookies where consumers value the ability to open and re-seal the packs again and again. The Reseal-it® product is now used by a range of customers on more than 170 million packs a year.
