Bodegas Muriel, a Spanish wine producer, has signed a distribution agreement with UK-based Moreno Wines, in a move to expand its distribution in the independent sector.
As per the agreed terms, Moreno Wines will exclusively distribute a wide range of Rioja wines.
Moreno Wines official Marcel Moreno told harpers.co.uk that they started working with Rioja over 30 years ago and believe that Muriel's popular wines and great presentation will help them build on the already popular Spanish wine market within the UK.
"We have a long heritage of working with regional wholesalers, retailers and the London restaurant trade and are looking forward to showcasing these wines to our customers. The Muriel range helps us complete our Spanish portfolio," Moreno added.
Bodegas Muriel has already developed good distribution in the multiple off-trade, under a partnership with Off Piste Wines over the past 18 months.
