As part of the plan, the company has appointed lobby firm Heather Podesta + Partners as its adviser.
Following the renovation, the company will open the remodeled stores under the Peet's name.
Heather Podesta + Partners was quoted by The Washington Post as saying that it will introduce the company to policymakers, and represent Peet's on a variety of topics related to the coffee industry.
"Also, they will advise the company on its upcoming Washington, D.C. market launch," the lobby firm said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Peet's Coffee & Tea has signed a lease agreement with Linear Retail Properties for a coffee store at 62 Charles Street in the heart of Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood.
The proposed 1,842ft2 Peet's Coffee & Tea location will serve its trademark specialty coffee and tea, as well as gourmet baked goods.
