Kobrand Corporation, a leading wine and spirits importer with a distinguished portfolio of hand-selected brands from around the world, announces the addition of the renowned Domaine Zind-Humbrecht to its French wine portfolio. Effective Feb. 1, 2014, Kobrand is the exclusive U.S. importer for all wines from the Zind-Humbrecht portfolio and is responsible for all sales and marketing activities in the United States.
The Humbrechts are a family of winegrowers in Alsace since 1620. The winery came by its current name in 1959 when Leonard Humbrecht married Genevieve Zind. In the 1960s and 1970s, Leonard was able to expand the winery’s collection of Grands Crus and other high quality vineyards.
Leonard’s son Olivier Humbrecht, is the general manager of the Domaine and, Kobrand says, the only Alsatian winemaker to attain M.W. (Master of Wine) status. A passionate advocate for the wines of Alsace and a firm believer that great wines are the reflection of a place, Olivier has long been convinced of the benefits of biodynamic farming.
“The wines from Domaine Zind-Humbrecht are perfect additions to our portfolio of outstanding producers from around the world and in particular France, complimenting the world class wines of Maison Louis Jadot and Champagne Taittinger,” says Robert T. DeRoose, president and CEO of Kobrand Corporation. “Since 1944, our company has brought to the American market some of the world’s highest quality, most sought-after wines. We are very excited about this new partnership to help Domaine Zind-Humbrecht to reach its full potential in the U.S.”
Zind-Humbrecht wines will be available nationwide.
