Chris Boerm has been named president of the grain group at Archer Daniels Midland Co. He succeeds Ian Pinner, who has been named vice-president of corporate strategic and financial planning.

Mr. Boerm joined ADM in 1991 and has held a variety of merchandising and management positions, most recently as vice-president of grain. Earlier, he was an adviser to the office of the chairman, and he also was vice-president and general manager of Eastern grain and corn processing origination and a senior merchandising manager for corn processing.

He received a bachelor’s degree in finance from Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, and a master’s degree in business administration from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

“With more than two decades and a range of experience at ADM, Chris has the knowledge and proven leadership to manage and grow our grains business,” said Joe Taets, ADM senior vice-president and president, agricultural services.

Mr. Pinner will fill a new position at ADM to help develop and drive the company’s corporate strategic growth plan and its business performance plans. He also will lead ADM’s annual business planning process. He will report to Ray Young, chief financial officer.

He joined ADM in 1999 and most recently was president of the grain group. Earlier, he held several management positions with the company’s European operations, including general manager, European Softseeds; managing director for ADM Milling and ADM Pura in the United Kingdom; energy manager for ADM’s European operations; general manager for ADM UK oilseed crushing and refining. Prior to joining ADM, he spent seven years with S.C. Banks P.L.C., a European grain merchant.

Mr. Pinner received a diploma in business and finance from Mander College in Bedford, England.

“Ian has deep insight into our business and the agriculture industry as a whole, and his leadership in this new role will assist ADM as we strive to achieve our objective of economic value added growth,” Mr. Young said.

Christina McGlone-Hahn has been named director of corporate strategy and competitive analysis. She most recently was the head of agricultural commodities research at Deutsche Bank. Earlier, she was an equity research analyst in agribusiness and proteins from 2000 to 2012.

Ms. McGlone-Hahn received a bachelor’s degree in business management and Spanish from Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster, Pa., and a master’s degree in finance and economics from New York University.

“Christina brings a profound understanding of shareholder value creation to ADM,” Mr. Young said. “Her insights into our strategies and sector will help ensure strong linkage to value creation.”

Ms. McGlone-Hahn’s appointment takes effect March 17, while Mr. Boerm and Mr. Pinner will assume their positions on April 1.
