Walsh Whiskey Distillery, an Ireland-based family-owned distillery, has selected Interbrands Nordic as its new distributor in Scandinavia.

Interbrands Nordic will oversee the distribution of Walsh Whiskey's Irishman range of Irish whiskeys in the region, thespiritsbusiness.com reported.

Commenting on the distribution, Interbrands Nordic president Jan-Erik Raiha said, "The Irishman Whiskey range will fit very well into our great portfolio of premium brands and we are looking very much forward to continuing the introduction to our Scandinavian customers and consumers.

"I'm confident that our Scandinavian consumers will appreciate very much the great taste and superior quality we can offer them from our Irish partners."

Interbrands Nordic also distributes Patron Tequila and Russian Standard in the region.

In October 2013, Walsh Whiskey said it intends to build a new €25m Irish whiskey distillery.
