Italian drinks Gruppo Camparigiant Gruppo Campari has agreed to completely acquire Canadian spirits company Forty Creek Distillery (FCD) in a deal worth C$185.6m.

The move marks the company's foray into the growing Canadian whiskey business.

The acquisition includes the complete portfolio of FCD including stocks, the distillery and manufacturing facilities and a Hospitality Center located in Grimsby, Ontario.

The addition of FCD will allow Gruppo Campari to further bolster its position in Canada and the US.
