Core Tip: We were recommended to Allen Coding by our label applicator supplier and their sales engineer suggested the R-XS printer as being most suitable for our production and packaging requirements.
Traditional SAllen Codingcottish craft bakers, JG Ross, turned to marking and coding specialist, Allen Coding for advice and the subsequent supply of a R-XS small character continuous inkjet coder for the application of date codes and batch information to pre-printed flow wrap for its new Gluten Free manufacturing facility in Portsoy, Aberdeenshire.

Established for over 50 years, family run JG Ross operates 23 retail outlets and also supplies wholesale customers throughout the North East of Scotland, including Tesco, Scotmid, Co-op and RS McColl.

Cameron Ross, Director at JG Ross, comments: “We were recommended to Allen Coding by our label applicator supplier and their sales engineer suggested the R-XS printer as being most suitable for our production and packaging requirements.”

The RX-S printer was selected for its ease of use and speed, and now operates on JG Ross’ production line at up to 30 packs per minute (ppm), where it is installed on the film entry feed.

Easy to install, operate and clean and offering clarity of print, the RX-S is best known for being user friendly and offering accurate, high-speed printing of a wide range of information in multiple languages on to a variety of substrates.

Cameron adds: “The training provided by Allen Coding was very good and the RX-S has been easy to install, learn and maintain and the quality of print is always good.”

“Based on our experience so far, I would certainly recommend Allen Coding and the RX-S to other food companies,” he concludes.

Allen Coding is part of the ITW Marking & Coding Division, which also comprises Foxjet, Norwood, Diagraph and Trident.
