Beer major Carlsberg has agreed to acquire developer Roxhill's warehousing and distribution center at Brackmills Point scheme, south of Bedford Road in Northampton.

The company is planning to build a new facility on land adjoining Roxhill's Brackmills Point scheme, for which the latter has submitted the planning proposal to the council, reported Logistics Manager.

Savills provided advisory services on the planning application.

Carlsberg currently operates a brewery and a bottling plant in Northampton. The new project is expected to create over 200 jobs in the region.

Work on the facility is expected to commence shortly, with practical completion set for spring 2015.

Due to become fully operational in autumn 2015, the facility will be owned and operated by Carlsberg.

Based in Denmark, Carlsberg offers its beers under a range of brands, including Tuborg, Kronenbourg, and Somersby cider.
