SaVse, the new vegetable smoothie invented in Georgia, is hoping to revolutionise vegetable consumption in the UK.
By using ingredients such as broccoli, kale, spinach and avocado, SaVse means people can incorporate these ‘super vegetables’ into their diet in a healthy, natural and easy way.
The SaVse smoothie is based on an ancient Georgian family recipe perfected by Nina Koutibashvili when she was pregnant in the 1980s with her son, and founder of SaVse, Guka Tavberidze.
Guka couldn’t understand why it was impossible to buy smoothies that tasted as good and were as nutritious as his mother’s, so he created SaVse.
Made from freshly squeezed vegetables and fruits, there is no sugar, preservatives, colour or water added, guaranteeing a completely natural sweet taste.
SaVse smoothies are available in five flavours:
Super Green – Broccoli, pear, spinach, kale, kiwi, lemon and banana
Super Purple – Beetroot, apple, avocado, lime, mango and lemon
Super Red – Strawberry, broccoli, celery, kale, orange and spinach
Super Blue- Blueberry, Kale, Beetroot, Spinach, Blackberry and Apple
Super Yellow- Mango, Carrot, Passion Fruit, Pineapple and Yoghurt
SaVse is made through a process called HPP (high pressure processing) that removes the need for pasteurisation and provides an alternative means of killing bacteria.
However, the most important aspect of this process is that the product does not need to be heated so none of the valuable nutrients of the vegetables are lost.
Guka Tavberidze, founder of SaVse said:
“We wanted to create a drink that was as nutritious as possible – just like the ones we had been making in our family kitchen.
“We came across a new way of creating a good tasting smoothie and preserving the benefits of fresh vegetables – by applying cold pressure instead of the traditional heat used by so many other brands.
“So say goodbye to heat-pasteurised, sugar and preservative-laden bottled drinks and say hello to the future of smoothies.”
Recent research shows that 78% of people find it difficult to take in what they consider adequate quantities of vegetables a day so SaVse has been created to make that possible.
