UK-based Dà Mhìle Distillery has introduced a new seaweed-infused gin to its existing range of flavored gins.
The new Dà Mhìle Seaweed Gin is made by reducing the number of botanicals used in its original small batch gin recipe and adding botanicals commonly associated with seafood, as well as other herbs and spices.
The gin is then infused with fresh seaweed that is sourced from the Newquay coast for three weeks.
Dà Mhìle Distillery founder John Savage-Onstwedder was quoted by Wales Online as saying that small-batch distilling is an art, but it is also about skill and craftsmanship.
"This new seaweed gin is a natural addition to the small batch botanical gin we launched last year which has been enthusiastically embraced by gin enthusiasts up and down the country," added Onstwedder.
Dà Mhìle Distillery is also planning to launch an apple brandy and Welsh rum later in 2014.
