od company Goya Foods is strengthening its presence in the US with four new manufacturing, production and distribution facilities in Texas, Georgia, California and New Jersey.The move is a part of the company's $250m investment for global expansion to cater to demand for its product lines.
The new sites will allow the company to expand its reach to new consumers and strengthen its brand throughout the US and internationally, including Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
Goya Foods president Bob Unanue said, "With the growing Hispanic population and the need for good nutrition, it's an opportune time for Goya to expand."
The 350,000ft² facility in Houston will engage in manufacturing and distribution of Goya's bean lines, and will produce 1,000 cans of beans per minute.
The 250,000ft² site in Los Angeles will cater to the West coast region, while the 151,000ft² facility in Atlanta will serve Georgia and the surrounding regions.
In New Jersey, Goya will open new Northeast headquarters in fall of 2014.
Spread over 900,000ft² area, the site in Jersey City will feature office space and a warehouse on 40 acres.
The company will renovate its facility in Secaucus, and install a rice packaging line to produce Goya rice mixes.
Goya Foods product portfolio includes a range of low sodium and organic beans, organic rice, brown rice and quinoa, frozen vegetables and fruits, coconut water and diet beverages, as well as olive oil and low sodium condiments.
