Goya Foods, a producer of Latin American food and condiments, plans to set up a 615,000ft² headquarters and regional distribution center in Jersey City, New Jersey, US.

The new site, developed by The Rockefeller Group and constructed by RC Andersen, will feature 577,000ft² of warehouse space and 38,000ft² of office space, on 40 acres of undeveloped land.

Goya Foods president Bob Unanue said that this project marks the largest expansion in the company's history.

The new center will ensure the retention of over 500 existing local jobs and the creation of more than 80 new positions at Goya Foods in Jersey City.

Goya's new facility and distribution center is slated to open in spring of 2014.

Goya Foods manufactures, packages and distributes over 2,200 food products from the Caribbean, Mexico, Central and South America.
