The gourmet foods manufacturer Kühlmann is creating a new image for its own premium brand. Inspired by a famous preserving jar, GIZEH has developed a new, ultra-transparent container for this purpose in cooperation with Kühlmann.
The shape and design of the ultra-transparent cup in clear glass optic and with a strikingly wide rim, is reminiscent of a preserving jar. Together with its high quality finish, it is also intended to have an authentic, hand-crafted appeal. “The deciding factor was that the customer would like to raise awareness of its premium own label brand using an eye-catching cup design in a high quality finish,” explains Frank Kriener, Manager Sales and Product Development. “With a clear-glass imitation finish, the new container stands out distinctly from the usual packaging design for gourmet salads.”
In order to also achieve the highest possible tactile appeal, an injection moulded polystyrene cup was selected. The wall thickness is configured in such a way as to keep the cup stiff and have a premium feel to it when held. The cups are labelled at the Kühlmann factory, sealed with foil and closed using a thermoformed slip lid. The new cups replace an injection moulded PP bucket which had been used to present that product line up to now.
Seeing as the concept had already been successfully presented at the Anuga fair, the containers are now in batch production. From March 2014 onwards, GIZEH’s long standing customer Kühlmann will be offering a variety of gourmet salads under its own label brand in three container sizes (225g, 400g and 600g).
