Nutrition Capital Network (NCN) is launching its inaugural European investor meeting on May 5, 2014 in Geneva, Switzerland.
Since being founded in 2007, NCN has hosted 19 investor meetings in the United States and says that it has established a successful track record of matching growth companies and technology innovators with investors, acquirers and strategic partners: 166 of the 343 companies that have presented at NCN meetings have found financing or completed a transaction.
“NCN investor meetings have from the beginning attracted interest from the international investment community and from entrepreneurs and growth companies outside the United States,” said Grant Ferrier, president of NCN. “Interest in nutrition and health and wellness is a global trend; given the consistent quality and volume of deal flow we have seen over the last several years, we believe this is a good time to expand our network into Europe.”
With top companies like BASF, Bayer, Cargill, Coca-Cola, DSM, DuPont, Hershey’s, Kellogg’s, Pepsi, Tate & Lyle and Unilever among its Cornerstone Investors, NCN already has a global footprint. At NCN Europe, selected NCN Cornerstone Investors will be joined by European-based strategic players and private equity investors with an eye on opportunities in European markets.
Cornerstone Investors sponsoring NCN Europe will include Abbott Labs, DSM, Herbalife, Kerry Group, Seventure and Tate & Lyle Ventures. The Cornerstone Investors will co-host a cocktail reception after the 12-6 pm May 5 meeting.
NCN Europe will focus on science, ingredients and technology related to nutrition and health and wellness. Finished product companies in consumer health, supplements or functional and natural and organic foods will also be considered as presenters. Presenting companies will be seeking investment, acquisition, or corporate partnerships for technology development, commercialisation, clinical trials, distribution or licensing. Between 8-12 companies will present their business to an audience of 30- 40 investors, with an opportunity for one-on-one meetings after the presentations.
Nutrition Capital Network is now accepting applications from companies interested in presenting their business plans at NCN Europe. Applying is free, but accepted presenters pay a €1,000 fee that includes business plan and presentation review by one or more of NCN’s selection committee mentors, introduction to multiple attendees at the meeting and key investors, and follow up.
